clean [klen](n): a state in which a medical device is free of contamination.
lumen [loo-muhn](n): a tubular feature of a medical device that cannot be visually
inspected for cleanliness.
Visually Clean is not a usable standard for lumened items, since you can’t see into
the lumen. Residual soil can remain in a lumen undetected and can transfer to the
next patient or cause the instrument to malfunction
Healthmark’s lumen cleaning verification products give you the tools to ensure that
your cleaning processes remove soil by measuring residual blood, protein, and carbohydrates,
seen and unseen. Point your mouse at the images below for more information.
